Mend Hob Ring Work

how can i fix my gas hob ?

I spilt soup on my hob and cleaned it straight away but now one ring won't work, it sparks but there doesn't seem to be any gas getting to the spark so that it lights. Have no idea of make/model as it's rented accom, it was brand new 4 years ago if thats any help meaning it's not an ancient hob.
