no power to my hoover u3524 vacuum cleaner?

my hoover u3524 vacuum cleaner was working one day and then used it the next and it will not power on. have changed the fuse and tried in various sockets but still nothing would like any ideas on what it could be

could be a cable fault,if its fitted with a molded plug,cut it off,fit new plug top,cut the cable off about 3 inches from the plug,rewire new plug,
