Vacuum cleaner - Hoover Wind Tunnel?

You need three thin flat-bladed screw drivers. Turn the vacuum over and wedge two of the screwdrivers into the cavity that holds the handle release mechanism. Turn the screwdrivers so that they move the plastic away from the handle release mechanism. Then use the third screwdriver to push the part of the handle release mechanism out toward the top of the roller brush housing. Putting the new part in is simple. Just line up the triangular plastic part that is sticking up making sure that it will be sitting inside the two ridges on the underside of the pedal. Then just pop it down with your hand until it clicks into place. Voila!
