How can I fix my refrigerator?

I have a one year old Kenmore refrigerator, and the last two times that we have had a power outage it will not restart until you turn the temperature control to a higher setting and then it starts up. This unit is in our vacation/weekend home and so because of this we have lost product each time. Any ideas? Sears has been no help.
