Following a power cut in the area, the power to the key pad is no longer there although the power is ON in the control panel. The internal battery is showing 5 volts. What could be the cause? The system has worked fine for the last 12 year without any problem whatsover.
Aso I have misplaced the installation manual. Can I get a copy from somewhere !
Thanks Acorn. Charged the battery. Is fully charged now (>12v). After fitting battery the key pad power is now on but the alarm started sounding and woud not stop even after fitting the panel cover and entering the previously used code numbers.
The only light showing on the key pad is the Power On light. All zones are off and the Day indicator light is also off. The keys when pressed dont seem to respond ie there is no sound.

You've got a 12yr old battery in the panel?
Should be replaced at a MAXIMUM of 5yrs, before, if found to be faulty during one of its annual checks.
There is your problem, by the way it's a 12v battery, yours showing 5v just confirms what I say
