Looking for Schematic drawing of 36 volt Battery Charger?

you won't get ANY acceptable answer from Wilderness Energy. when i first got my BL-36 kit, they made a rookie mistake and sent me three batteries from different build batches. the odd one out killed the other two. i tried to explain this to them, but they Refused to listen.
i also mentioned that their bl36 20Acontroller was inadequatly wired with 14 ga wires to the motor. again, they refused to listen until i sent them photographic proof. all they did was come out with a 50 amp unit with the same size wires.
if you want quality and better service DO NOT contact W.E. go somewhere else.

All the electronic stuff is clever, and wll work, but why bother? Get a replacement 36V charger off ebay for next to nothing. At most you will have to change the connector.

Constant current 1 amps for 5 hours
Constant voltage of measured battery for 5 hours
Constant voltage must be lowered to 40.5 volts (13.5V for each 3 battery) for 2 hours. This voltage is applicable forever.
Resting period of 8 hours is recomended for long life.

I started building one following the steps:
AC Transformer with 45V secondary 90w power
bridge rectifier 5 amps connected to 4700 microfarad 80 volt capacitor
Lm317 connected in current source mode adjusted to 1 amps. will charge for five hours in constant current.
Measuring the voltage of unloaded and charged stopped battery I will start charging with constant voltage mode of Lm317 at the measured voltage measured above.
Finally I will set constant voltage to 13.5V and charge for 3 hours more. This voltage is applicable forever as you don't use your bicycle in winter to protect your battery from dying.
I will drive my bicycle 8 hours later for a long battery life.

Me too! It seems mine won't stop charging anymore because the LED stays red. It used to turn green after a couple of hours. I think it may be a heat related problem because it occured near the end of summer. NO answer from Wilderness........

It still works but I have to make sure to unplug it now so no Dell/Sony type of overcharging fire problems occur. I know this is not the best for the batteries as they seem to get worse all the time. Anyway, it is almost impossible to get any information regarding this from Wilderness. :(
