how do i know if my car has a timing belt or chain and if it needs replacin?
i have a 1.2lt 51 plate corsa... and exhausts emmisions light came on so took car to garage right away, he said my coil needed replacing which i had done, he mentioned something about checking my service history to find if my car had band or chain and if it had been replace as my car is now on 94k.... i dont have this information and car seems to be runnning fine now (light no longer on)
thanks... is there any way of finding out when the belt was last changed and is there any signs that it may need changing?

Your car has a timing belt, it needs replacing approximately every 60000 miles or every 5 years as the rubber perishes. If it does break you could have severe engine damage
