Whats wrong with my rover 25 1.4i (2002 - 51 Plate) ?
My car lost power on the motorway and had a slight juddering to it. We pulled over straight away and turned off the engine. There was no smoke from the rear or front of the engine and it also didnt overheat. We got towed home and i checked the cam belt and all is fine there, however the car still wont start. I have been told it is possibly a head gasket failure and checked the lids of my coolant and enigne oil for white matter and found nothing.
I can turn the car over however there is no ignition as such and i have no idea what to do next ??
sounds like ur distributor cap has gone, this happened in my ford fiesta just last week, it had no power was shuddering, nd sounded like something in the engine was gonna explode!!!

Hi
Try changing your spark plug's, If one burn's out whilst your driving you get a sudden loss of power and juddering as the engine struggle's to run on 3 piston's. Then once you've switched the engine off it won't fire up again because you've got no spark to fire it up.

Did you lose a lot of coolant though. When the head gasket goes there often isn't time to create an emulsion - it just goes.
