Mend Hoover HDV6 Tumble Dryer Noise

Hoover HDV6 not starting?

When I start my tumble dryer, it does not continue unless I keep the button pressed in. It makes a noise similar to an electrical short circuit. I've changed the bipolar switch but this has not worked - any ideas? I don't want to keep spending money changing parts just on the off chance.
