HANDSET IS ALWAYS SEARCHING.BT SYNERGY 2150?

You also after hard reset need to re-register your handset.
Press page and hold for 10 seconds, then the IN USE LED will flash repeatedly, you now have 10 minutes to register your handset.
At the handset press OPTIONS and scroll down untill REGISTRATION flashes it will then display available bases BASE1-4
chose number 1 and it will ask for a PIN 0000 is the factory pre-set and then your done and LED will stop flashing.

Has your synergy 2150 just started randomly displaying "Searching" on the display, even when the handset is sat in the cradle?

When this happens try a "reset" to the handset and the base station by taking the batteries out of the handset and turning off the power to the base. Leave them in the power-off position for at least 30 seconds before powering them again. If this does not fix your problem than your system is aging and most like the RF shielding cans on the handset (or base) is corroding (or dry solder joints). If this fixes the problem, then simply
repeat this procedure whenever the problem manifest.

If this does not fix your problem try a” hard reset”

1. Turn off the mains power.
2. Press the 'page' button and power on whilst pressing the
'page' button. Keep holding the button after power on until base starts bleeping
3. Release the 'page button when the base unit stops bleeping.
4. Press the page button five times in quick succession.
5. That's it ! Full factory reset completed.

It would seem this is a common problem, I have two hndset one of which is searching intermitantly. A new battery did not help.

My phone is doing the same only I had already bought new batteries to try and solve it. Would like a solution as well...

I have the same problem. Seems to be very common. I just found a suggestion on how to fix it here:

No, it's not the battery. I have the same problem and I bought a new battery today. It seems a common fault. There are a couple on ebay being sold because of this fault.
