Mend GE 26936GE-1 Cordless Phone Handset Base

GE 26936GE-1 cordless phone will not link to base, how can I fix it?

The handset says ready, but when you push TALK to make a call a message comes up on the handset that says NO LINK TO BASE. Does anyone know where I could get an online manual for this model, or does anyone know how to fix this problem? Just put in a new battery so it's not the battery.
