Mend HP PAVILION Drive Jammed Open

My CD drive is jammed. How do I open it?

My CD drive on my processor(HP PAVILION model) will not open. It has in it a blank CD and when I push the button to open it, it will not. It makes ominous noise as if it is trying to open . Is it jammed? How do I open it? Do I need to replace it with a new drive?
