Hotpoint Aquarius WD420 won't spin?

Hi, my washing machine has just decided it doesn't want to spin any more! It has washed and drained the water but won't spin. I removed the clothes which are nicely drip drying but found out that I can't even rotate the drum by hand ~ Any ideas on what to check first?
