Mend Hotpoint WD420 Press Button Start

WD420 hotpoint aquarius washer dryer?

When i press the on button all the lights start flashing and sometimes dont stop. i have to turn it off at the wall then back on but still sometimes doesnt stop flashing , have to wait until all lights stopped then the washer will work.
Any ideas
