Mend Electrolux Caravan Battery Gas

Caravan fridge will not work on electric?

We have an electrolux fridge in our caravan which has worked perfectly up to now - we have had the caravan 6 years but it is 11 years old. There is nothing wrong with the fridge itself as it works perfectly on gas, but is inoperative on battery or mains electric. The battery switch does not light up when switched on and, although the mains switch does light up the fridge does not get cold? Any ideas?

The 12v side won't work untill you are plugged into a vehicle into the 12s plug and turned the engine on. It does sound like the 240v element has gone.

Thank you so much for your answer... I will investigate. Could you possibly tell me what a multi meter is and how to use it? Can I buy one?

at the back of the fridge are two heater element's,one is 240 volt & the other is 12 volt,you may find that these element's have stopped working or the power is not getting through,this is where a multi-meter will come in handy to rectify you problem.best of luck
