Mend Electrolux Fridge Mains

Fridge does not always cool on mains pre-travel Electrolux RM4206?

when I try to cool Electrolux RM4206 fridge on mains hook up at home nothing seems to happen but while travelling with it set on battery it chills a bit then on hook up at destination it works ok, this is a recent failure on a model 10yrs + age, do they just pack up, bit weird that it only works as and when, any ideas ?
