how can i fix my hoover 7.5kg condenser tumble dryer ?

my hoover 7.5 condenser tumble dryer was working fine then tried to turn on by the power button came on but as soon as u take your finger of button it stops etc it works if u keep your finger on the power button holding it in but as u relese the dryer stops can any one help please thanks
