My fisher and paykel nautilus dishwasher isnt emptying or turning on?

I did a full load of dishes and went I emptied the dishwasher I noted some water hadnt drained properly .I took out some of the water .Then went to turn it on but it now dosnt turn on and there dosnt appear to be anything wrong with my electric socket.Please help???I have had this dishwasher for about 5 years but only been using it in the last 3 months as I was waiting to get my kitchen fiished to put it in and yes it took that long to finish it and now the dishwasher craps out!!!
