I recently bought a Peogeot 206 GTI, this is now the 3 fan belt i replaced, it keeps shreading it on the one side and it then climbs of, i also replaced the tensioner pulley, now the people at the spares place says the belt may be to short and the tension to tight, that why it is shreading on the one side
It still has the original alternator on, I took a fishing line and checked, they all line up perfect and all the pulleys have the same number of grooves (6 grooves), the one thing i saw was that the belt runs slightly off the tensioner pulley by about 8mm on the engine side maybe this could cut the belt as the tension on the belt is to tight
