Peugeot 306 indicator failure?

Two days ago, the left hand side indicators started flashing and ticking very rapidly. The rear indicator bulb had fused. So I purchased the correct one and replaced it. At first, it seemed to be ticking normally again. But after a while, it became intermittent (fast, then slow). When the hazards are turned on, the small lights illuminating the rear number plate also flash! Not only that but the fog-light symbol on the dashboard flashes every time the left hand indicator is activated. Electrical problem ??
