Mend Saniflo Sanivite3 Working Filled Water

Sanivite3 pumps intermediately?

Hello,
My sanivite3 was not working. I disconnected it cleaned it and then filled the chamber with water, it pumped fine, with no lid on. I then closed it connected it and the pump sounded but didn't expel the water..any idea?
