Sanivite 3 Macerator?

In the UK 10 or 12mf 440v ac will work get one from RS or Maplin it's a motor start cap originally in the early ones they were 8mf and the machine would occasionaly run backwards on startup !

If the machine starts up OK when you spin the impellor with a screwdriver and sounds fine when cold run the motor up for 5 or 6 min if its OK and remains quiet then replace the cap if it sounds like marbles in a busicuit tin replace the machine & check out the pipe work to see if it's within manafacturers spec normally the cap blowing is a symptom of an underlying problem of the machine overloading or working too hard (non return valve gone.)
