Problem with Fisher Paykel washing machine?

Hi,I have a F+P GW708U 7.5kg top loader machine..it started stopping and beeping while filling the other day and did that everytime it had to be filled on a cold wash...I rang F+P who said they could send a service person out or buy a new machine as its almost 15yrs old..today I did a cold wash and it stopped shortly after filling and started flashing hot/cold..so put hot tap on and did a wash on cold/warm and its working fine.seems to b struggling to fill with just cold water..any ideas what the problem mite be? thankyou!

You phone a service company to come out and fit a new inlet valve. Cost of inlet valve is about $35 New Zealand. Plus cost of half hour labour. Far cheaper than buying a new machine. Phone a local service company rather than F & P they charge a high labour call out fee. Where about are you?

So how do i get the water inlet fixed then? will the same happen if i get a new machine?

It is not getting cold water in fast enough. If cold water tap is fully open then it possibly has a faulty inlet valve. You can usually tell by the sound. If it hasn't fully opened the water coming in will sound higher pitched like it is restricted and struggling. Worse case scenario is it may be a fault on the control board but that doesn't happen very often.
