Europro ep8000 iron - Iron handle gets too hot to use?

The handle on the ep 8000 gets too hot, wife has to wrap a towel around it to iron.

the steam hose is damaged so the steam instead of going out of the plate is leaking under the handle and thats the reason why the handle gets too hot take off the rear cover and fix the leak
