Mend Ryobi P2008 Trimmer Gas Start

My weedeater will only run as long as I keep pushing the primer bulb?

I have a ryobi weedeater that will start when I prime and choke it but will stall when the gas that I forced in with the primer bulb is used up. As long as I keep pumping the primer bulb it will run.

You might check to make sure the bulb isn't cracked . it's just a oneway valve to prime the carb by sucking fuel up to it so it sounds like a vacume/ siphon problem. My bulb was cracked and I had a ryobi tiller that has the same bulb so I'm switching it out. Problem is getting the return line back in the tank good enough to stay.
