Mend Ryobi 700R Gas Start Rope

ryobi 700r gas trimmer?

The pull start rope is stuck, all they way out. The take up spool inside is locked up. Please advise how to fix it. Local Farm & Garden repair store said it was cheaper to buy a new one than pay to have it fixed. So, I want to try to fix it myself. Do not have an Illustrated parts breakdown sheet to start with.

The engine will not start & stay running - When it is cold - prime & pull 3 times - move to half choke & it will start > Now it will not start > also has gas running out of the exhaust after it has been used...only need it har 10 minutes a week & don't want to spend $$$
Any advice??
