my gas trimmer stopped and when i go to pull the line to start it seems to be locked it wont pull How do I release it to be able to pull the cord again.

the pull cord may have overlapped inside by back-lashing and the top cord becoming trapped underneath the lower cord. it happened with my moped and i had to get a whole new assembly
