Mend Snapper Red Black Bar

My Snapper Gas Trimmer won't idle?

My Snapper has a red body and black shaft with a protective bar above the handle and is about 5 years old. It was running fine and I stopped it to fix the line. It will run as long as I keep the throttle high when I let off the engine stops. It eventually will start again but I have to keep the throttle up. What is the problem?
