Optima Compact G3 8EP 396 Tamper alert?

I have had to remove one of my PIR covers to dismount from the wall while decorating thus triggering the alarm. I have stopped the alarm by inserting my code but I cannot remove the Tamper warning - the keypad doesn't accept any keystrokes. The keypad was fine before I had the alert as I was performing various tests.
