sony handycam dcr-trv260 tape ejection wont close/open?

I was given this camcorder as is so I figured it might be worth the fix since it was free..

Heres the problem.. I have no manual... and the tape ejection is stuck open and it kinda look like its lop-sided.

Also , I looked into the tape ejection area inside, and theres like this metal round ball looking thing that is tilted to the side. Can someone help me with possiblities of the problem
