hissing noise when watching recording sony handycam dcr-hc18e?

when i have transferd a recording either to a tape or dvd every now and then there is a noise i can only discribe the sound as like steam escapeing sometimes its there sometimes it isnt i have run a head cleaner thro it but it keeps poping back HELP HELP HELP PLEASE thanks for any help
