Mend Sony DCR-TRV250 Handycam Repair

how can I fix my sony DCR-TRV250 digital handycam?

The compartment door will not close with a tape in it. However it will close without a tape. I don't understand what could be keeping it from closing with the tape and closing without the tape? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Sounds like either;

Something in the tape feed mechanism is out of place/bent

or

something has broken off which is causing and obstruction in the tape holder.
