recoil not working?

Remove the starter, remove the screw holding the starterr pulley ( be aware there will be a spring behind here,eye protection should be worn ) check the spring for brakage, replace if required, if not, re fit the pulley and wind up the spring in the direction that the rope pulls from the cover, do not over wind the spring as this will coil bind the spring and pull the ends off.
