Mend Brother VX1100 Machine Bobbin Replaced

How can I fix my Brother VX 1100 sewing machine?

My Brother VX 1100 will not pick up the bobbin thread. I just replaced the bobbin holder/case with appropriate part and have cleaned and oiled the machine. Could this be the timing? What should I adjust? This machine was my grandmothers and I was told it worked but she is no longer living to ask....Thank you so much for your help...
