Mend Renault Megane Liberte 1.4 Fuse Box

Renault Megane Fuse box replacement?

I'm told by my garage that the fuse box on my 1998 Renault Megane Liberte 1.4 is faulty and needs to be replaced. They tell me that I have to have a new one at a cost of £400 and then it needs to be coded by Renault at another £100. The garage say that I cannot have a second hand fuse box fitted because it is not possible to re-code a second hand unit, Does anyone know if this is correct, or can give any advice please.

hi i got the same problem if any 1 can help westy12681 AT aol DOT com

ive been told if you replace the ecu and fuse box and ignition barrel with the new key the problem will resolve, failing this there a company on ebay who can bypass the immo in the ecu for £59 , worth a try
