2006 Renault Trafic - power steering fluid leaking. Renault want to replace the whole steering rack when all it is is a leaking pipe. I have located the pipes to buy, can anyone tell me how long it will take to fit it - will probably replace both pipes
I have just had same problem 2008 trafic , 2.0 ltr, it's appalling state of affairs , I bought this van to have trouble free running for a few years, first the injectors(4) £1600.00 now steering loss.

the racks are not prone to failure it renault covering up the fact there is a problem withthe feed pipes that crack near the end of the pipe causeing power steering loss and oil loss this is dangerous it does not happen with other makes of bus and i have never known it in 40 years of various busses. renault should recall all renault trafics. i wonder how many thousand of owners got same problem but just have it repaired it is a dangerous fault the metal pipes should not crack

hi mine went same way at first thought it was the rubber o ring on end of pipe but it was not in fact it was a small crack at pipe end. i took a chance and got a second hand one it was the main feed pipe but took a local garage 2 and half hours to replace as one end of the pipi was bad to get at and you need a ramp. i think there should be a recall these trafics as pipes should not crack mine is a 2007 model
