Mercedes Sprinter fuel pump and/or filter issues?????

Hello......my lwb 311 sprinter, had an oil cap malfunction, oil every where ect. Sorted it before it went dry, steam cleaned and toped back up.

Ran fine for one day,
Then the battery dies, replaced this, still woldnt turn over, replaced the fuel filter as the engine seemed to tbe starved. Now it will only turn over if i fill the filter with fuel and spray easy start in the air filter. Then i get the edc light and i can see air in the fuel line, it dies and wont turn over????

Could it be the pump? Dont know where to go from here.

i wos driving my mercedes sprinter 208d 1998 in 2 gear high revs then just cut out now it wont start but engine turns can any one help

as iv just told sum1 else on here, williamsdiesels.com his name is deano, he helped me right out over the phone but lookin on sprinter questions he trvels all over the uk fixin em. Hope ur lucky pal

hi tom,when you replaced the fuel filter did you bleed it,as it sound's as if you have not bleed it,so bleed fuel system using primer pump & this may resolve the your problem,hope this help's & best of luck
