Mend Opel Vivaro Fuel Up Filter

How can I get fuel up to filter on vivaro van?

Changed fuel filter In my vivaro 2005 van now can't get fuel up to filter much less bleed it. Have tried usind the bulb pump and switching ignition on for 10 seconds as it says in haynes manual but still no fuel getting through to filter. Thought this was going to be a simple job.
