air in fuel line of mercedes vito 2001?

why am i getting air in fuel line on mercedes vito 2001 common rail diesel. changed fuel filter and fuel pump - still no joy

was it ok before you changed filter?motors can draw air from any number of places,faulty unions,chaffed fuel pipes and a very common one are hand primer units
