have you checked for a spark at plug-if no spark then you need to check if there is a live feed to ignition coil not sure of marking depends on what earth tractor is [with ign on], then check other wire that goes to distributor[poss marked cb], check points that they are clean [use some emery paper or emery board to clean them],then set to correct gap, approx 15 thou,[on tip of cam lobe] check rotor arm for cracks,check that center carbon in dist cap is intact,check between segments on cap that there are no cracks. turn engine and make sure dist turns and that points are opening/closing ,if all ok then you will need to check fuel system.
