Mend AEG 1600TK Refrigerator Temperature Compressor

thermostat on aeg santo 1600tk?

the fridge appears to work and freezes on the back but when the compressor goes off the fridge interior reaches 10 degrees c before coming on again when it reduces the temperature to 1 degree c could this be a faulty thermostat and are they easy to fit
