WHEN USING TIMER RECORD DVD ASKS FOR CHANNEL SET UP FIRST, HOW DO YOU DO THIS,

I had same problem and was about to use a hammer.

Have you tried to use the old style aerial lead that is provided with the recorder in addition to the scarts etc

After I had connected one end to the decoder and the the other to the recorder I did an auto channel search it found the decoder pic and the timer record now works a treat.
