Mend Electrolux Vacuum Electrical Repair

Cordwinder on Electrolux Model G?

How do I take it apart without loosing the tension of the spring? I'm having an electrical problem in it somewhere so I have to take it apart. I did this once before and the spring which returns the cord completely unraveled. Thanks!
