Mend John Deere LT155 Tractor Engine Backfires

Lt 155 won't start?

The engine tries to start, as it is engages, you shift to fast (rabbit) and it back fires then stalls. Repeated tries also result in back fires. The oil, gas are full and the storage is dry in a shed.
