52plate vectra 2ltr dti?

engine electronic light comes on (displaying a car with a spanner through the middle)loosing power and smokey just had car serviced and was told the problem was a booster valve sticking and may needs cleaned,can you please tell me what the booster valve is and where abouts on the engine it is thanks
