Renault Scenic 1.6 VVT warning message and making 3 beeps on start up?
I have an 07 scenic extrme 1.6 vvt. The service light came on in late December 09 and I thought this ment the service was due (last serviced Jan 09). Then the message "Service due" came on with the small spanner sign. The battery went flat after not using the car for a few days in January when we had all the snow and freezing tempratures and I needed to use my breakdown service to jump start the car. From that time the car now makes 3 beep sounds when you press the start button before the engine starts and the message "Check auto door locking" appears on the dash. I have now had the car serviced today at an independent garage who has reset the service due message but the service sign is still lit and the 3 beeps still sound and the check auto door locking message still shows up. Has anyone had the same problem and can shed some light to what it means. I do have the car booked into a Renault dealer as there is a recall on my car to have the computer control of the power stering re programmed and they will check the faults out then.
Your engine was on when the mechanic switch on and off child locks?

I've got this problem, don't know how I've made it appear but I have, How do i turn the child safety locks on and off to fix this pain in the bum problem please?????

Hi i am trying to find out the same my service light came on way before it was due and now i get that check auto door locking fault and 3 beeps. Mine is a 57 reg. I wonder if my car should have been recalled?

Was told by a dealer this was low key battery. Changed but still no change. Turned the electronic child / rear window lock on & off and it has vanished

Hi Kevin, Yes was as simple as that, the technition said thats all he did to sort the problem, they did reprogramme the power steering as per the recall on the car aswell so this might have reset the service message on the dash.

I can't believe this was so simple as flicking the switch which disables the rear electric windows and puts the child locks on remotely!

Hi Neil, sorry to take so long in replying I haven`t been on here till now. The dealer did not charge me for looking at the car as all the technition did was to turn on the child locks on the back doors and turn them off again. This sorted the problem as the message was just warning me the child locks were not on and once switched on and off this reset the computer so it new I had switched them off. The car has been checked at my local Renault dealer and the problem was sorted by the technition switching the child locks on and off. Once he did that the beeps stopped and the service light went out and the message "Check auto door lokking" stopped showing up on the dash at start up. Everything is ok now.
