Mend Whirlpool LSQ8000HQ0 Switch Model Washer

Lid switch for Whirlpool model # LSQ8000HQ0?

To get my washer to move past the first fill up and continue I have to stick a pencil in and hold down the switch. Do I need to replace the switch or the part attached to lid that holds that switch down.
