How to open the washer to be able to get at the water level pressure switch. The model number of the machine is A8740 and it is a Maytag.

assuming you have an overfilling problem before you go at the pressure switch check the pressure chamber for blockage you will find it at the bottom end of tub/drum its connected via a hose to the pressure switch also check the hose where it enters the p/chamber as it can also get clogged. if you blow through the hose you should hear the switch trip over, if you can hold the pressure to switch it shouldnt click back, if it does you may have a pin hole
