Mend Villeroy & Boch Pressalite 1000 Toilet Ring

Plunger on Villeroy & Boch toilet doesn't work?

How do I remove the lid of my toilet cylinder in order to find out why the plunger doesn't work? The chrome ring around the two plunger buttons is fixed solid. The only indentifying mark is shown on the inside of the seat - Pressalite 1000. There are no other model numbers shown.

Push the smaller button down and lift the larger one. Then lift the smaller button up and off. Yoy will find a plastic srew under the buttons.
