The constant running of water and empty systern happens every now and again to my loo. I usually change the washer. It is a nightmare to get off. Usually there are like grap marks and I use plyers to twist and turn it to get it off. I replace the washer. It is £ 2-3 from city plumbing or a roca spare part dealer. There is one in Bournemouth In Holdenhurst Rd. This time the whole thing snapped out of ware after 5 years. To deal with that you unscrew the bolts and take the cystern off. Dont forget to isolate valve and shut off water supply. Usually its just the washer.

I have had Roca Victoria (single flush) slim toilet for 10 years and it started to play up and have used the following solutions:

1, The filling system can be changed to a Torbeck bottom feed system, but it is a small feed size so check with plumbers merchants first. Adaptors available

2, The toilet constantly running and refilling a about every 5 to 10 mins.
There are many posts about changing the small light grey washer on the bottom but make sure you clean both side throughly as lime sacle builds up between the seal and the polystyrine float.
When refitting make sure the cistern is vertical because this can prevent the float to seal correctly.

If this doesn't work or the unit breaks its £34 plus del plus vat. Don't worry Torbeck make a replacement called a Variflush drop valve ( less than £15 at focus or DIY). it is fitted in minutes and has the added benefits of being a dual flush system with complete new chrome twin flush button assembly.
I believe this will work on twin flush Roca systems.

3, The broken chrome button these break easy and are £18 plus del plus vat. What a rip off! just buy the new Torbeck system above and it sorts both known issues.

This is a great site thanks to the other people who have been posting answers.
Please note Screw Fix also have a new type from fluid Master which is £10.99, but I have not tried this out.

After a week of waiting for my new Roca flush valve (husband broke the arm on the old one) finally fitted it tonight and we still have a trickle constantly running in the basin. Do I have to adjust the blue float in any way? this problem has already cost us £600 for 6 months on a water meter.

Try ROCA direct - they're suprisingly helpful for a company that makes such a bad system! On line you can order the part at toiletspares.co.uk
Don't call out a plumber - it's really easy to fit yourself. While you wait for the part just clean up the old washer and it will give you another few weeks anyway.

Go to B&Q I got a replacement dual flush for £12.98 (Not a Roca one) it has all the parts you need. I have just done mine and it works fine no problems fitting it either.

Hi. I have experienced the same problems with my roca toilet where the cystern fills up constantly. Having remedied the problem (or so I thought) I tried to twist the top of the flush section an the plastic hook that lifts up the flusher has snapped!! I need a new column, please can somebody tell me where i can get one (cheap)..

How the hell do I get the washer off? I've tried to unscrew it and pull it, but it doesn't budge at all. I'm scared I'm going to break it - I'm already being fairly aggressive and it's not moving.

You can obtain Roca siphon washers from City Plumbing. They are about £1.30 each. Remove flush buttons, unscrew chrome tube and remove cistern lid.
Unscrew anti-clockwise siphon and remove from housing.
Using pliers (or similar) remove white cap at base and take off washer. Replace new washer and reverse above to fit.
Don't screw chrome tube fully as this exerts pressure on the washer causing it to warp.

just add a weight - like a jubilee clip or two - to the bit that goes up and down , then it will close firmly and not leak

Who said you need to replace the central system?

I hads a problem with my Roca toilet whereby the water was slowly running into the bowl and then every five minutes or so the cistern would self fill.

I have just adjusted the bolt (loosened) which is located under the push buttons of the lid of the cistern. This appears to have remedied the problem.

My roca dual flush W/C seems to be still filling up after flushing and the overspill is dribbling constantly into the bowl? Can anyone help or is it the rubber ring problem?

The washer isn't corroded, it is probably just fouled up with limescale. Take the washer off (should be removable by hand, surprisingly), clean the washer with limescale remover or the famous bicarb/vinegar/lemon mixture, check out the recess where the washer sits and clean if necessary, and then refix. I have three Roca wcs and they all need this about once a year. Sorry it's taken so long, hope you haven't changed the loos in disgust!

I have had this problem cistern continually filling.
ask your plumbing centre for a fluidmaster replacement seal 242MP071 and fit as follows.
1 turn off water supply.
2 remove water level adjustment rod from upper cap assembly.
3 remove upper cap assembly by lifting arm and rotating i/8 anti-clockwise,while pressing down slightly on cap.
4 replace seal.
5 refit upper cap assembly. make sure upper assembly is fully turned clockwise to the locked position or valve will not turn on. refit water level rod to assembly.
6 turn on water supply.
this will solve your problem.

I just took out the valves and cleaned them.

Thanks for the postings as this help me a lot and saved me £500 on 2 new toilets and now don't have to be woken up at night with the constant refilling of the cistern.

just got the rubber washer from my local plumbers, £2.00. easy enough to replace if you look at the pdf mentioned a few posts back, seems to have fixed it for another 2 years!! Shame Roca haven't come up with a better rubber seal yet.

BLIMEY How difficult is it to get this part?

Nowhere near me has it, its as though these washers are from outer space. Are Roca the cheapest that builders put in new builds?

I have fixed hundreds of this type of toilet flush valve since a huge estate opened near Coventry. To date I have refitted these toilets 15 times and different addresses with this type of flush valve.The best thing to do is get rid of ROCA valve altogether as it is complete rubbish and always wears out within 2 years and is greatly affected by bleach blocks hung in the cistern. I removed the washer, turned it over and refitted it and it's solved the problem. It may only be temporary but it gives me the chance to find a replacement.

Be careful and shop around - Lunn's charge £7.19 + VAT whereas it's only £1.53 +VAT on the ROCA price list.

If it's a (bog) standard dual flush valve, with a grey washer, the Roca part # is 822403000

Roca directed me to City Plumbing in Wimbledon. The guy there asserted that the not just the central unit would have to be replaced but all of the internal workings ordered and paid for. Total cost -- £50.62 !!!

your right I have the same problem every year with my roca toilet. You dont need the whole column just the grey rubber washer at the bottom you can do it yourself cos the plumber charged me a fortune the first time mine went. If in doubt ring roca (I did) and they will send you instructions and part numbers
